Mindful relationship with time

What is your relationship with time? Notice how you describe your scheduling habits to your friends, what term you usually use?

What would you like these relationships to look like? We spend a lot of our time doing urgent assignments, but how much time are we dedicating to what's really important for us? For achieving our true dreams?

Here you will find a little inspiration to boost your control over time.

Meeting my future me - practice

Today in our morning practice we visited ourselves from the future and were invited to reflect in the journal 5 things that are important for me to: Achieve, Do, Experience and BE.

Set your goals

The practice of meeting our future-selves allows you to write your goals. Your 1 year goals, your five year goals, and your ten year goals. You can repeat the Future-me meditation with you in the future of 1 year, 5 years and ten years.

Setting goals are linked with higher motivation, self-esteem, self-confidence, and autonomy (Locke and Lathan, 2006), and research has established a strong connection between goal-setting and success (Matthews, 2015). Read more about the research and how to create your goals.

3 Min. Intention-setting meditation (great to begin your day with)

Another great way to get a control over your time is to not jump into your day automatically and take mindful pause to set your daily goals or intentions. Here's a practice we did today and highly recommended to begin your day with.

1 minute: Breath. 2nd minute: how is my body doing (what stretch do you need this morning to treat yourself respectfully?)

3d minute: setting an intention for the day (what quality am I inviting, what are the three critical tasks of today). Write it down - and only then you may reach your cell phone :)

The books that inspired me most in this topic are: Getting Things Done (GTD) by David Allen

Today's activity is : Do something that is important for you! Take the time to exercise, workout or taking your hobbies a step further.

We'll see you tomorrow for our last day of this challenge, get ready to meet your best friend in the whole wild world!

yours,

Ori
